Re:Source

Helping Marion County's waste find a new life.

Established through the collective efforts of the Mid Valley Haulers Association, Re:Source provides a long-term solution for all of Marion County's waste needs. From local haulers’ trash and recycling loads to construction contractors’ demolition debris, this facility serves as a convenient and efficient hub for processing waste and recovering valuable materials.

Creating a More
Sustainable Future

If it’s thrown away in Marion County, it’s likely to go through Re:Source’s doors. From there, the facility works to ensure that waste reaches its best destination—which doesn’t always have to be the landfill.

As a result of Re:Source’s material recovery processes, concrete, metal, and cardboard is repurposed, wood residuals become biofuel, and organic waste is turned into compost for local farms, keeping valuable assets in our community while protecting natural resources.

A Measurable Impact

Re:Source’s state-of-the-art facility is one-of-a-kind in Oregon, and its 500,000-ton capacity ensures a waste management outlet for Marion County for decades to come. But that’s not the only positive impact:

75

thousand tons of waste projected to be diverted away from landfills in 2025

25%

of construction and demolition waste is recovered for recycling

1150

highway trips saved each year by compacting and consolidating loads

20

thousand gallons of fuel saved each year thanks to load consolidation

50

thousand tons of compost generated locally each year from organic waste

90%

of profits reinvested to help lower costs and keep collection rates stable

Their goal at the end of the day is to provide the best service to the residents of not only Salem but Marion County.
